Soccer Game Preview: Nantucket vs. Monomoy

The Nantucket Whalers will head out to face off against the Monomoy Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nantucket is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Tri-County RVT with a sharp 10-1 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for Nantucket in their matchups with Tri-County RVT: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Monomoy hasn't lost a match since September 22nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. They came out on top against Cohasset by a score of 3-1.

Tate Laramee and Alex Connell scored all three of Monomoy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

The victory got Monomoy back to even at 4-4-4. As for Nantucket, their record is now 7-4.

Nantucket came up short against Monomoy in their previous matchup back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Whalers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
