Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poteet). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Coronado Thunderbirds 77-34. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Coronado's loss came despite strong showings from Sophia Hernandez and Evah Morales. Hernandez went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points, while Morales posted five points. Those 14 points gave Hernandez a new career-high.

Poteet now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Coronado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Poteet didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-30 win against West Mesquite on the 10th. As for Coronado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-27 loss against Franklin on the 10th.
