Volleyball Recap: Manawa Takes a Loss

Manawa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Bonduel Bears. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Manawa was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bonduel's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-21, 25-22.

Ella Gehrke paced Manawa's offense, picking up six kills. Gehrke got some help from Abby Elmhorst and her eight assists. Elmhorst also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alayna Seeger, each putting up three.

Bonduel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emery Thompson led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces.

Manawa's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Bonduel, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Manawa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Rosholt on the 9th. As for Bonduel, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Oconto Falls on the 11th.
