Basketball Recap: Independent Athletic Ministries Takes a Loss

Independent Athletic Ministries played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 66-25 loss at the hands of the Washburn Pirates. The Ravens were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Washburn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ebany Hill, who went 8 for 20 on her way to 20 points and four steals. Hill has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Taylie Proffitt was another key player, going 8 of 18 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Independent Athletic Ministries now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Washburn, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-8.

Independent Athletic Ministries does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Washburn, they will challenge Cumberland Gap at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
