Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aubrey Hill and Imani Shannon Lead Biloxi to Victory

Biloxi had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Moss Point on Friday. The Biloxi Indians never let the Moss Point Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Indians have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Nia Shannon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Shannon was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Imani Shannon and Aubrey Hill did most of the damage at the plate: Imani scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Hill scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Amari Merideth also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Biloxi's record now sits at 10-5. As for Moss Point, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biloxi will host St. Martin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moss Point, they will be taking part in a tournament against St. Patrick at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
