Basketball Game Preview: Denair Coyotes vs. Mariposa County Grizzlies

The Denair Coyotes will square off against the Mariposa County Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Denair's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.

Denair is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Le Grand: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Denair blew Le Grand out of the water with a 71-31 final score. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Koby Cervantes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 31 points, 12 rebounds, and nine steals. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Potter, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals.

Denair smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Mariposa County suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They took a blow against Stone Ridge Christian, falling 91-51.

Denair has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.9 points. As for Mariposa County, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-11.
