Preview: Chicago Military Academy Eagles vs. Chicago Tech
The Chicago Military Academy Eagles will look to defend their home court on Monday against Chicago Tech at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chicago Military Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Chicago Washington.
Chicago Military Academy can attribute much of their success to Zaid Shine, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds, and Jamhad Noye-Mohammad, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Noye-Mohammad has scored at least a third of Chicago Military Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Jayson Tucker, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Chicago Tech scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Phoenix Military 80-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Jonathan Harris, who scored 33 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Chicago Tech's points. Artis El was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Chicago Military Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Chicago Tech, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Chicago Military Academy came up short against Chicago Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 74-66. Can Chicago Military Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
