Baseball Game Preview: Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets vs. Immanuel Christian Warriors

The Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to face off against the Immanuel Christian Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph-Macon Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Randolph-Macon Academy proved they can win big on April 12th (they won by seven) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Fishburne Military. The three-run effort marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Thomas Glasgow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Randolph-Macon Academy's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Grove, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Immanuel Christian, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Quantico on Monday.

Randolph-Macon Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Immanuel Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Immanuel Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Randolph-Macon Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Immanuel Christian, though, as they've been averaging 11.1 hits.
