Softball Recap: Tattnall Square Academy Gets the Win + How To Watch

Tattnall Square Academy took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Westfield School, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans skirted past the Hornets 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Hornets on August 7th, they had to take a 7-1 defeat.

Callie Still made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Still was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Still, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigayle Baugh, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Tattnall Square Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Westfield School, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tattnall Square Academy will venture away from home to challenge George Walton Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Westfield School, they will challenge John Milledge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
