Volleyball Recap: Heartland Christian Lions vs. Lordstown Red Devils

While Heartland Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged the Lordstown Red Devils out 2-1 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Leading Heartland Christian to victory were Adeline Barrett and Keagan Pruitt. Barrett had three aces, while Pruitt hit 58.3% for 11 aces, nine digs, and seven kills. The dominant performance gave Pruitt a new career-high in aces.

Heartland Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lordstown only served four.

Despite the defeat, Lordstown saw an underclassman step up: Kaycee Was had two aces and 13 assists.
