            Baseball Recap: Serena Huskers vs. Newark Norsemen        
        
		
        
        
            Serena extended their losing streak  to three  on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-13 in the process. They lost  11-4 to the Newark Norsemen. That's two games in a row now that the Huskers have lost by  exactly seven  runs.
  Wesley Hendricks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with four  stolen bases and three  runs.  Payton Twait was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI.
As for Newark, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 10-14. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven  runs or more this season.
On Newark's side,  Kiptyn Bleuer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. Bleuer was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since April 5th.
 In other batting news,  Eastin Mcbroom was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI. Newark is 4-1 when  Mcbroom posts two or  more  runs, but 6-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Toby Steffen, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  double.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serena will welcome Fieldcrest  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Newark, they will be playing at home against Parkview Christian Academy  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so the Norsemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
