Preview: R Red Jacket vs. Bloomfield Bombers
R and Bloomfield are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The R Red Jacket will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bloomfield Bombers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: R has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bloomfield will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Friday, R was beaten by South Seneca 64-36. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for R in their matchups with South Seneca: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, R got a solid performance out of Sarah English, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and five steals. English also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 72-21 victory over Romulus on the road.
R bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bloomfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
R was dealt a bruising 69-29 defeat at the hands of Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in February. Can R avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
