Bluffton and Winchester Community are an even 3-3 against one another  since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Tigers will venture away from home to  square off against the Golden Falcons  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Bluffton is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last four games.
Bluffton let Adams Central stack four runs on them in the second inning  on Monday but luckily Bluffton prevailed anyway. The Tigers won by a  run and slipped past the Flying Jets  8-7.
 Madyson Sonnigsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and six unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Tressa Renner, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted  over her last 11  matchups.  Konley Ault also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 Bluffton  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters  in three consecutive  games.
Meanwhile, Winchester Community lost  12-3 to Hagerstown on Wednesday. The Golden Falcons haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
 Winchester Community saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Allie Campbell, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs.
 Bluffton's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 12-13. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Winchester Community, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Winchester Community's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Bluffton has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.1  hits per game. It's a different story for Winchester Community, though, as  they've been averaging 9.7  hits. Given Bluffton's sizable advantage in that area, the Golden Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Bluffton couldn't quite get it done against Winchester Community in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023 as they fell  11-7. Can the Tigers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
