Recap: Marco Island Academy Rays vs. Moore Haven Terriers
The Marco Island Academy Rays suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Moore Haven on the road and fell 58-12.
It was another big night for Sa'Nyree Myers, who scored 36 points for Moore Haven. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Myers has scored all season. Akeelah Ling was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Marco Island Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Moore Haven, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marco Island Academy will take on Everglades City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Everglades City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Moore Haven, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Glades Day at 4:00 p.m. Glades Day comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
