            Softball Recap: Herriman Mustangs vs. Syracuse Titans        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Maple Mountain, Herriman was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Syracuse Titans by a score of  9-4. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  win against them.
 Sierra Prescott made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Kinlee McDermaid and  Aspyn Hawes did most of the damage at the plate:  McDermaid  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  triples, one  stolen base,  and one  run, while  Hawes  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  Hawes has posted since back in April of 2024.  Sammy Nelson also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Herriman  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .545. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Herriman's victory was  their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Syracuse, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Herriman has already played their next match,  a  10-9  win against Westlake on the 12th. As for Syracuse, they also  didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  7-4  victory against Morgan on the 14th.
