Preview: Liberty Christian Academy Eagles vs. Delaware Christian Eagles
Liberty Christian Academy is 1-7 against Delaware Christian since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Liberty Christian Academy Eagles just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Delaware Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Thursday, Liberty Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Genoa Christian Academy and lost 45-29. Liberty Christian Academy was down 38-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
The losing side was boosted by Kaden Minier, who scored 12 points along with three steals. That was a full 41.4% of Liberty Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Reichert, who scored three points.
Meanwhile, Delaware Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell to Genoa Christian Academy 32-28.
Liberty Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Delaware Christian, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
Liberty Christian Academy came up short against Delaware Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 43-39. Can Liberty Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
