Baseball Game Preview: Springboro Panthers vs. Olentangy Braves

The Springboro Panthers will square off against the Olentangy Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Springboro will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Springboro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Perrysburg.

Colten Muhlenkamp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adam Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacob Cane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Springboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perrysburg only posted a batting average of .091.

Meanwhile, Olentangy faced Lakota West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Firebirds. That's two games straight that the Braves have won by exactly two runs.

Olentangy is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Springboro, they pushed their record up to 27-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
