Baseball Recap: Brackenridge Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Brackenridge's offense. They fell just short of the Burbank Bulldogs by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Ethan Polendo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.

This is the second loss in a row for Brackenridge and nudges their season record down to 8-14. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Burbank, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8.

Coincidentally, Brackenridge and Burbank will both be playing Southwest the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
