Softball Recap: Morton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Morton brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Prairie Central Hawks on Saturday. The Potters not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 11-0).

With the victory, Morton broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-19. As for Prairie Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season.

Morton will head out to face off against LeRoy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Potters' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Prairie Central, they will take on Normal University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
