Softball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Athens's offense. They came up short against the Van Vandals on Friday, falling 15-0. The Hornets have struggled against the Vandals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Van, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Athens Hornets challenge Kemp Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van, they will take on Mabank at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Van's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mabank has averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
