Soccer Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, Monticello was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Fluvanna County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

Monticello has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6-2 record this season. As for Fluvanna County, their record is now 9-6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will host Alleghany at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Monticello will be up against Alleghany's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.81 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fluvanna County, they will take on Spotswood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
