Basketball Game Preview: Rouse Raiders vs. Leander Lions

The Rouse Raiders will face off against the Leander Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rouse is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Rouse's tournament run continued when they took on Cedar Ridge on Saturday. Rouse came out on top in a nail-biter against Cedar Ridge, sneaking past 45-43. Given Rouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Cedar Ridge is ranked 660th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rouse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Baldwin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Baldwin a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Isaac Montgomery, who posted eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Leander's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against Rock Hill, falling 52-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since February 9th.

Rouse is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Leander, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Rouse took their victory against Leander in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 54-32. Does Rouse have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leander turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
