Volleyball Recap: Cocke County Comes Up Short

Cocke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Sevier County Smoky Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Smoky Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-17, 25-16.

Reece Proffitt paced Cocke County's offense, picking up seven kills. Proffitt got some help from Josie Shaver and her seven assists.

Cocke County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Sevier County, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cocke County will challenge rival Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sevier County is set to face off against their familiar foe Jefferson County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
