Rancho Cotate has gone 8-2 against Analy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rancho Cotate has three straight wins, Analy has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Rancho Cotate will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Cardinal Newman, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Cardinals on Thursday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Madisyn Guinn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Izabella Harumi was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Yahya, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Maria Carrillo hit Analy with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell just short of the Pumas by a score of 7-6.
Maya Antonelli and Liliana Bloom stepped up to the plate in a big way. Antonelli went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Bloom went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Analy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Rancho Cotate, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Everything went Rancho Cotate's way against Analy in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Rancho Cotate made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
