Volleyball Game Preview: Palmyra-Eagle Panthers vs. Hustisford Falcons

The Palmyra-Eagle Panthers will challenge the Hustisford Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmyra-Eagle will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each matchup than the last.

Palmyra-Eagle not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16th (when they won 3-0). They blew past Salam 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Palmyra-Eagle was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Hustisford posted their closest win since October 22, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past Williams Bay 2-1. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hustisford's win came from a few key players Palmyra-Eagle will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Layla Thimm, who had nine digs, six kills, five aces, and two blocks. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Vivian Henderson, who had 27 digs.

Hustisford was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in four consecutive matches.

Palmyra-Eagle's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Hustisford, their victory bumped their record up to 4-19.

Palmyra-Eagle came out on top in a nail-biter against Hustisford in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
