Volleyball Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss

Monte Vista suffered their biggest loss since March 11th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Helix Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Monte Vista ultimately came up short, they really made Helix work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 34-32, 25-14, 25-16.

Among those leading the charge was Damian Nava, who had 12 digs and three aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Monte Vista has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season. As for Helix, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Monte Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Canyon Crest Academy on the 17th. As for Helix, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Clairemont on the 17th.
