A big 24-point first quarter helped carry
Washington (Pa.) to a 42-7 victory over The
Southmoreland (Alverton, Pa.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Prexies led 42-0 at the half.
The the Prexies raced to 24 in the first quarter alone and never looked back.
The Scotties' lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter.
In a WPIAL AA Interstate game next week Southmoreland (0-2) takes on Mt. Pleasant, and Washington (2-0) will go up against Charleroi also in a WPIAL AA Interstate game.
