Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Bobcats vs. Apex Friendship Patriots

The Glenn Bobcats will take on the Apex Friendship Patriots in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Glenn has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Apex Friendship will arrive with eight straight victories.

It was a proper cat-fight when Glenn challenged Eastern Guilford on Tuesday. The Bobcats took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 17-9 in the first quarter.

Semaj Galloway put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 9-for-17 on his way to 22 points. Derrek Griffin was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Apex Friendship didn't have too much trouble with Panther Creek on Friday as they won 57-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Catamounts are ranked 57th).

Apex Friendship's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
