Baseball Preview: Branford Buccaneers vs. Eastside Rams        
        
		
            
 Branford has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  square off against the Eastside Rams at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Branford will be strutting in after a  win while Eastside will be coming in after a  loss.
 Branford put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the  season  on Thursday. They put the hurt on Saint Francis Catholic with a sharp  9-3 victory.
  Tucker Floyd made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   seven  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Floyd was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Dawson Cannon and  Colby Beard did most of the damage at the plate:  Cannon  went 3-for-3 with a  home run, while  Beard  went 1-for-1 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple.  Camden Gaskins was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They fell victim to a  rough 16-1 loss at the hands of Newberry.
 Branford's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
 Everything went Branford's way against Eastside in their previous matchup  back in March as Branford made off with  a  12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Branford since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
