Soccer Game Preview: Jasper-Troupsburg vs. Alfred-Almond

The Jasper-Troupsburg Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Alfred-Almond Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jasper-Troupsburg's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Jasper-Troupsburg took on Andover on Saturday. The Wildcats lost 6-0 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alfred-Almond). They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hammondsport 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Alfred-Almond.

Jasper-Troupsburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Alfred-Almond, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-8.

Jasper-Troupsburg skirted past Alfred-Almond 2-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
