Basketball Recap: Alycia Middlebrooks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fostoria over Lake

After flying high against Northwood last Thursday, Fostoria came back down to earth. The Fostoria Redmen fell to the Lake Flyers 43-39. The Redmen haven't had much luck with the Flyers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Several Redmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alycia Middlebrooks, who posted 13 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrique Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Fostoria's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Lake, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fostoria will take on Otsego in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fostoria is facing Otsego at the right time seeing as Otsego is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Lake and Maumee will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
