Softball Recap: Gila Ridge Victorious

Gila Ridge won the last time they faced San Luis and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks came out on top against the Sidewinders by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Violet Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kamryn Delgado, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Nacis, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Gila Ridge's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for San Luis, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9.

Gila Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sidewinders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
