Baseball Game Preview: Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs vs. Mariana Bracetti Academy

The Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs will challenge Mariana Bracetti Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Thursday, Maritime Academy Charter didn't have quite enough to beat Thomas A. Edison and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Seadogs have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Mariana Bracetti Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Rams. Mariana Bracetti Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Tito Perez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Felipe Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mariana Bracetti Academy pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Maritime Academy Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
