Basketball Recap: Richlands Takes a Loss

Richlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 67-50 fall against the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-55 on December 4th.

Leading Northside - Jacksonville to victory were Joaliel Caraballo and Jamir Mitchell. Caraballo went 10 of 12 on his way to 20 points and eight steals, while Mitchell dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Mitchell continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah McKay, who posted eight points.

Richlands' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Northside - Jacksonville, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Richlands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-55 defeat against Jacksonville on the 28th. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-41 loss against Swansboro on the 28th.
