Softball Game Preview: Pine Valley Central Panthers vs. Silver Creek Black Knights

Pine Valley Central is 0-10 against Silver Creek since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Black Knights at 5:00 p.m. Pine Valley Central will be strutting in after a victory while Silver Creek will be coming in after a defeat.

Pine Valley Central was handed a 15-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Brocton 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Danica Farnham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Danielle West, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Hohl, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Silver Creek entered their match against Randolph on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Black Knights lost 16-2 to the Cardinals. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Black Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Silver Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Weiskerger, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Pine Valley Central's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1.
