Basketball Recap: Virginia Academy Comes Up Short

Virginia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Springdale Prep Lions, falling 74-37. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 70-68.

Virginia Academy now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Springdale Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 23-7 record this season.

Virginia Academy and Highland will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Highland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Virginia Academy likes a good challenge. As for Springdale Prep, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Springdale Prep Lions face off against the New Hope Academy National Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
