Basketball Recap: Alvord Comes Up Short

Alvord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Era Hornets 59-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-28 back in December of 2024.

Hope Pearman had an outrageously good game for Era as she went 7 of 14 on her way to 20 points along with seven boards and five steals. Those 20 points gave Pearman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tristan Bowles, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Alvord's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Era, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.

Alvord will head out on the road to face off against Muenster at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Era has already played their next game (against Chico), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
