Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cass Antoine and Sanaa Bean Lead Edna Karr to Victory

Edna Karr entered their tilt with Peabody on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Peabody Warhorses. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Warhorses are ranked 56th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edna Karr was led to victory by Sanaa Bean and Cass Antoine. Bean posted 16 points, while Antoine put up 13 points. Bean is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Recasnner, who earned seven points.

Edna Karr's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Peabody, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Edna Karr will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Slidell at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Peabody, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northwood at 5:00 p.m.
