Preview: Chambers Academy Rebels vs. Hooper Academy Colts
Chambers Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Hooper Academy Colts at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chambers Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Hooper Academy is ranked 121st).
Last Tuesday, Chambers Academy suffered a tough 53-30 defeat at the hands of Lowndes Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chambers Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Hooper Academy came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Evangel Christian Academy out 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Chambers Academy's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Hooper Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Chambers Academy beat Hooper Academy 52-44 in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Does Chambers Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hooper Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
