Softball Recap: Amory Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Amory, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Hamilton Lions 6-5 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Lions back in February, they had to take a 9-7 loss.

Amory's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mak McAlester, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Amory's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Amory will venture away from home to face off against Smithville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hamilton, they will take on Aberdeen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
