Football Game Preview: Miami Trace Panthers vs. Jackson Ironman/Ironladies

Miami Trace hasn't had much luck against Jackson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Ironman/Ironladies at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Miami Trace is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-8 win over Hillsboro. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Julian Baker produced another solid effort rushing for 243 yards and six TDs on only 11 carries. He has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last eight times he's played. Austin Brown was another key player, rushing for 84 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Miami Trace was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 416 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Jackson got themselves on the board against Chillicothe last Friday, but Chillicothe never followed suit. They blew past the Cavaliers 35-0. Given the Ironman/Ironladies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 243rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Miami Trace's record is now 10-1. As for Jackson, their record now sits at 8-2.

Things could have been worse for Miami Trace, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-27 loss to Jackson in their previous meeting back in October. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
