Basketball Recap: Tioga Takes a Loss

Tioga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 77-29 loss at the hands of the Elliot Christian Eagles. The Timberwolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

Leading Elliot Christian to victory were Jeremy Nielsen and James Lappe. Nielsen dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 12 boards, and 11 assists, while Lappe went 9 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points. Those 11 assists gave Nielsen a new career-high. Kaden Kirby was another key player, putting up two points and 15 rebounds.

Tioga's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Elliot Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Tioga will take on Delta Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tioga is facing Delta Charter at the right time seeing as Delta Charter is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Elliot Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lodi Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elliot Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
