After flying high against Triangle Math & Science on Tuesday, NCSSM: Durham came back down to earth. The Unicorns came up short against the East Wake Academy Eagles on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Unicorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While NCSSM: Durham ultimately came up short, they really made East Wake Academy work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.

Mariam Hassanen paced NCSSM: Durham's offense, picking up five kills. Hassanen got some help from Chloe Harnphanich and her nine assists. Hassanen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
