Football Recap: Goodpasture Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Glencliff + How To Watch

Goodpasture Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 51-7 win over the Glencliff Colts. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 37-point advantage.

Goodpasture Christian was led to victory by Caden Stroud and Chase Angell. Stroud rushed for 107 yards and three scores, while Angell threw for 217 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. Nate Starks got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Goodpasture Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Starks, Slim Leavell, Ayden Richardson, and Jake Purkey picked up one apiece. Starks got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Coming up, Goodpasture Christian will face off against Maplewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Glencliff, they will square off against Cheatham County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
