Football Recap: Bountiful Piles Up the Points Against Viewmont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bountiful). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Viewmont Vikings 42-14. The Redhawks pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had little chance of recovering from.

Bountiful was led to victory by Siaki Fekitoa and Hudson Malmrose. Fekitoa gained 210 total yards and three touchdowns, while Malmrose threw for 231 yards and three TDs on only 15 passes. Fekitoa also rushed for 142 rushing yards, which is notable because the Redhawks are 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of Malmrose's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Lakepa Satuala.

Bountiful didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Will Smoot and Jaden Taylor.

When it comes to explaining why Viewmont lost, don't look at Benji Tolman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 84 yards, and also caught one score.

Bountiful's record now sits at 3-4. As for Viewmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Bountiful will take on Alta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Redhawks will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Viewmont, they will square off against Olympus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
