They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans on Monday. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Jones, who went 7 of 16 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. Jones' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Arnold, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.

When it comes to explaining why Edmund Burke Academy lost, don't look at Wyatt Carey. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 18 on his way to 22 points and six steals. Those 22 points gave Carey a new career-high. Owen Redd was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six assists and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Monsignor Donovan Catholic and bumps their season record up to 5-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.
