Basketball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Farmington Phoenix. The Silverwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, don't look at Easton Duft. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Cam Campbell, who posted seven points and five boards.

Farmington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Ernstrom led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ernstrom a new career-high in points. Malakai Tobler was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 13 points.

Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Farmington, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will welcome Weber at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Weber's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Farmington, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Layton at 7:00 p.m. Farmington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
