Cheney gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the West Valley Eagles 10-9. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Dawes Hanson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Nolan McKinnon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Valley fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Cheney will square off against Medical Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Valley, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Rogers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rogers has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.75 runs per game on average), something West Valley will no doubt try to take advantage of.
