Baseball Recap: Smithsburg Leopards vs. Boonsboro Warriors
Smithsburg was the 10-8 winner over Boonsboro when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Leopards fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Leopards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smithsburg got a massive performance out of Jaxon Teson, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Teson is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Oates, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Smithsburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Boonsboro, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5.
Looking ahead, Smithsburg will head out to challenge Brunswick at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Railroaders will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Leopards surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boonsboro, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Jefferson at 2:15 p.m. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
