Baseball Recap: Eastmark Takes a Loss

Eastmark was the 10-5 winner over Douglas when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Eastmark Firebirds lost 11-3 to the Douglas Bulldogs on Friday. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastmark got a good showing from Cooper Frost, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, Frost gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, MJ Thames was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Mavrick Laboy was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Eastmark now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Douglas, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastmark will welcome Estrella Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Douglas, they will be playing at home against Rincon/University at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
